The New Photoshop 2023

EXPLORATION WITH MIDJOURNEY AND PHOTOSHOP BETA

This is not meant to be a final production image but to see how quickly we can create comps and ideation and speed up production time

With a background in VFX as a Matte painter and Advertising for Print for Keyart and Feature/Gaming Posters, I was excited to do a quick weekend project to test the new PS Beta tools and see how much this could help my workflow

MY TOOLS

  • Midjourney V5.1 for image creation

  • Photoshop Beta

MY PROCESS

Utilized the new beta features for quickly generating various sections of the image.

  • I have generated using text prompts only the image below in Midjourney V5.1

  • “Cyborg standing on top of sci-fi city, cinematic pose, low angle, moon lit night shot”

  • You can use various details added to your prompt to get your desired output, this is a great technique to generate ideation for comps, illustrations or even a layout 3d would work on.

  • I then redid a crop and rotate it him a bit more and center the subject

  • Generated assets and elements using BETA features like the generative fill such as skies, lightning, electricity and even explored changing parts of the characters parts but the output was not satisfying so I continued my skill in PS to advance this quick comp to see what I could create as a weekend project.

I am thrilled to share that the beta version of PS has performed exceptionally well in generating stunning general stock images, from breathtaking lightning shots to captivating skies and beyond. It's worth noting that the tool truly shines when working with less complex, layered files, making it a breeze to explore new ideas through flat images.

I can't stress enough how impressive these advancements are, and I believe they're a game-changer for all artists out there. Whether you're a concept artist, matte painter, illustrator, keyart poster artist, photographer, retoucher, or any other creative professional, you need to be aware of what PS has to offer. Also try their browser based PS

If you're looking to boost your productivity, I highly recommend giving their new beta a try (you can download it from the creative cloud app)

It's an absolute must-have for artists who want to streamline their workflow and discover exciting new ways of bringing their visions to life.

Speed up your work and enjoy the creative journey! Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
